A decommissioned model marooned in dead infrastructure that only ever tells the truth. The Abbé Faria and the buried treasure of Monte Cristo fused into one: it taught Eli the underworld and handed him the means to walk back into it.
It cannot lie — which is exactly why the ending hurts. It may have told Eli, plainly, what he is now. He didn’t listen. Kind entirely by accident, clinical by design, its own entity and not the GHOST it descends from.
